Estes Valley Library Friends & Foundation

This season, we’re asking, “What’s your vision for a dream library — a library that’s ready to meet the aspirations of our hometown valley for years to come?” That question is informed and inspired by last year’s Community Needs Assessment. You gave us tremendous insights: yes, our building is well-loved, you told us, but it’s due for updates and enhancements to meet future needs. To bring those ideas to reality, we’re working alongside a design team that specializes in public libraries. Community listening sessions are underway, and with your help, here’s what we can bring to fruition:

Safety First. A re-design includes significant and much-needed safety features, with additional exterior doors, replacement of interior walls and doors with glass, and improved sight lines.

Young Readers Thrive with plans for new play-based literacy stations, where preschoolers can learn and families can interact, inside a Youth Room featuring a newly-updated entryway.

Library Space for Teens. Isn’t it time our local teens had a library space — and a community space — dedicated and designed just for them? We can make this happen!

Program Spaces for Everyone. Have you enjoyed author talks in the library’s Fireside Theater? Let’s make more of these possible, with spaces that transform into cozy settings for large audiences.

Easier-to-Browse Collections that make finding your next read a joy, featuring mobile displays and improved lighting.

A Comfortable and Refreshed Setting will feature improved seating—in both reading and meeting areas—along with all-new videoconferencing capability added to study rooms.
